Middle School Youth Group set for a great year!

It’s going to be an amazing year for our youth including the Strengths Explorer Program, St. Michael’s Legion for boys and Totus Tuus for girls. Don’t forget about the monthly Adoration and movie night! Parish Bazaar begins Friday, September 10

Our annual parish Bazaar promises to be full of great food, fellowship and lots of fun!
The Bazaar begins Friday evening featuring Dan’ Fish Fry from 4 – 7 pm in the parish hall. All are invited to participate in the volleyball tournament from 5 – 8 pm in the gym. Click here for entry forms.
Saturday is packed with activities. Beginning at 11 am we will have Children’s Play World in the gym, Bingo, and a variety of booths including Crafts, Grab Bag, Candy Corner, Religious Goods, delicious food including brats and tacos in a bag. Our parish dinner will begin at 4 pm with a beef and noodle or chicken and noodle dinner catered by Rozzi’s. You will also have the opportunity throughout the day to place bids on Silent Auction items and purchase raffle tickets. Of course, in order to make this a success, we need volunteers. Please call the parish office if you can help in any way!

Totus Tuus Group for Girls beginning in September

St. Patrick parish will offer a new program for girls in grades 3 through 12 beginning in September. Totus Tuus will be a formation and fellowship group that will help young women go to Jesus through Mary. The focus of this new program will be to help our young women grow in virture and holiness. Fides, Spes and Caritas, three groups within Totus Tuus will offer age appropriate discussion and activities.Fides (“Faith”) is for girls from 3 – 5 grades. The focus of this group is to grown in virture with great trust and faith in the Lord. The primary responsibilities of Fides will be to attend monthly meetings and to lead at Sunday’s Mass once a month.

Spes (“Hope”) is for middle school girls, (6-8 grades). This group will grow in virtue and put their faith into action. In addition to also leading a monthly rosary, the girls will help with 1st Friday Family Holy Hours and plan quarterly service events.

Caritas (“Charity”) is for our high school girls and their focus will be leading with love. They will be the mentors of the girls in Spes, lead monthly rosaries and plan quarterly social events.

A $20 yearly membership fee in Totus Tuus will help cover the costs of the various religious medals, cards and other items the girls will receive as well as the social and service activities. Financial assistance is available! Please call Kelli at the parish office.

Safe Conduct Protocol Training

Our diocese requires all staff and volunteers who come in contact with children through Church or school activities to complete the Safe Conduct Protocol Training. All those who are helping with children (catechists for the youth group, SRE, Sacramental Prep, school field trip chaperones, etc…) must have this training. Please contact the Parish Office if you have any questions. Training will be offered at St. Joan of Arc Thursday, September 9 at 7 pm-room 109.

Fall Catholic Family Initiative

Join us Wednesday nights this fall for the Family Initiative Program. We will meet for six consecutive weeks beginning September 8 thru October 13. No prior participation is necessary to sign-up. There are activities available for all ages. This joint St. Patrick and St. Joan of Arc progrm offers a comprehensive plan for Intellectual, Human and Spiritual growth with pastoral opportunities for our families. Classes are held at the St. Joan of Arc building. The schedule includes:
5:45 pm – meet in the cafeteria for a pitch-in dinner (optional)
6:30 – 8:00 pm – class time
Registration forms are available at the doors of the church and can be returned to the parish office.

The classes that will be offered are:
For Married Couples Only (cost $20 per couple – this covers both the fall and winter session)
A Marriage Made for Heaven, a class developed by Dr. Greg and Lisa Popcak, presents a faithful, practical path for getting the most out of your marriage. Whether you are a newlywed or an old hand at marriage, A Marriage Made for Heaven will introduce you to new insights, show you new techniques, challenge your assumptions and open up new doors for greater intimacy both with your mate and the God who loves you and gave you to each other. A Marriage Made for Heaven will help you realize that there is more to marriage than meets the eye; that the road to a happy marriage leads directly to a Heavenly Marriage. Jeremy and Terri Burke will be the instructors for this class.

For Adults (no cost) – Our priests will alternate teaching a class called “The Fathers Answer Your Questions”
This class will address the many theological and liturgical questions asked by our parishioners on our February 2010 Pew Survey.

Middle School – 6-8 grade (no cost)
The parish and school counselor, Heather Becker, will offer a Peer Leadership class which will lead this very critical age group to a greater understanding of how to positively influence their peers and develop leadership skills.

Kids for Jesus – 4 years to fifth grade ($5 per child)
The program for this age group is designed to motivate children to learn how to live virtue and choose what is good. They also learn how to create strong friendships with others who are also practicing virtue and to learn the Traditions of the Church and deepen their relationship with Jesus.

Babysitting is available for those under the age of 4 at no charge
