In Stitches with Deb 4 (Saturday, July 22)

After three very successful events in the Year of Mercy and this past January, we have planned another day for Saturday, July 22nd to sew custom hospice gowns for St. Vincent hospice patients.  No experience needed.  Again, we will be looking to borrow people’s sewing machines, irons, etc., We also can use donations of material.  (each gown needs 2.5 yards of washed and dryer-dried cotton or flannel).

On that day, we’ll meet in the St. John Paul II Room at Saint Joan of Arc.  The event starts at 8:30 AM and concludes at 3 PM.  Even if you can’t join us for the whole time, come for whenever you can.  There will also be a provided lunch for all the volunteers.   Be sure to check out Deb’s website to see more about the day:  If you plan to attend, call or email Chad Grube (626-7005 or so that we have enough lunches; last minute volunteers are also welcome.

You can also RSVP and invite other people to join us by going to our event page on the Facebook at:

Semi-Annual Haiti Trivia Night (July 21)

AnnouncementsThe next Trivia Night for Haiti is Friday, July 21, from 7-10 PM in the St. Patrick Parish Hall.  Registration will begin at 6:30.  Sponsored by the St. Patrick Haiti Ministry, all proceeds will benefit our sister parish in Marfranc, Haiti.   To take part in this fun evening, either come alone or with friends, or bring your own team of 6 players.  Anyone can play whether you have a little or a lot of important tidbits of information about many subjects and are willing to be put to the test for a cash prize.  The teams compete against each other during 6 or so rounds of questions; each round is a different category.  The team members confer among themselves to come up with the correct answers to the questions.  At the end of each round, the answer sheets of each of the teams are scored.  After all the rounds, and a final Trivia Challenge, the team with the highest score will win a cash prize.  Delicious Strawberry Shortcake and canned drinks will be available for purchase.  Admission fee is $10 per person.  To register your team, make a donation, or if you want to help or be on a team, but don’t have enough people, please call Rita Morrow at 453-2632.  Thank you for your continued support.
