Pray for the Holy Father
Sunday Religious Education (SRE) registration packets have been sent out and we have begun an exciting and engaging year of learning about our faith! Parents with K-8 students who do not attend STSJP school and who did not receive a packet should contact the Parish office or stop by for registration materials.
Since parents are encouraged to assist in their child’s SRE classroom at least one class each semester and Safe Conduct training is required for anyone working with children, a Safe Conduct training class will also be offeredat St. Joan of Arc Thursday, September 9 at 7 pm for any parent who has not yet completed this training and would like to do so at that time.
It is now a parish policy that for a child to receive their sacraments they must be enrolled and shown to have attended every year of religious education. Each year religious education builds upon itself. We have found that when a child tries to enter the confirmation program after having NOT attended religious education since First Holy Communion, we have to begin at a remedial level which causes further frustration for those who have been engaged in Religious Education.
